our statement of faith

God.
We believe in one God existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: co-equal, perfect, and eternal.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Eph 1:3; John 1:1; 10:30; Acts 5:3; Matthew 28:19
the Bible.
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, absolutely authoritative, infallible, and without error. The Bibel alone teaches the truth about God, humanity, and salvation and is useful to teach, rebuke, and correct the believer so that they may be equipped for righteousness.
Proverbs 30:5; Psalm 19:7; 2 Timothy 3:15-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

Jesus.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ: truly God and truly man; He is the only Savior of the world through His atoning sacrifice of dying on the cross and rising again from the dead in bodily form; and that His return is imminent.
John 1:1; John 3:16; Eph 1:4; 1 Timothy 2:5

Mankind and Sin.
We believe that God is the creator of the entire universe, including man, whom He created in His own image; because of the original sin of Adam and Eve, all of mankind is sinful, lost, and can only be reconciled to God through the work of Christ on the cross.
Gen. 1:26-31; Rom. 5:12-21; Rom. 3: 10-18; Eph. 2:1; Jer. 17:9; Rom. 8:7

salvation.
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone (apart from any human effort); it is a gift of God.
Rom. 10:9; 1 Pet. 3:18; 2 Cor. 5:21; Rom. 3:21-26; Rom. 5:9; Eph 2:8-9

baptism.
We believe that baptism is a command for all believers in Jesus Christ and is an act of obedience that represents our death to the world and resurrection to walk in newness of life with Christ. Baptism does not save, but it is a public declaration of our union with Christ.
Col 2:11-15; Acts 2:38-39; 16:31-34; Matt. 28:19; Romans 6:3-6

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, regenerates the lost, and indwells and sanctifies the believer.
John 14:16,17,26; John 15:26,27; John 16:9-14; Rom. 8:9; I Cor. 3:16; 6:19; Gal. 5:22-26
The Holy Spirit.

eternity.
We believe in the resurrection of the dead; believers in Christ to eternal life in heaven and all non-believers to eternal conscious damnation.
John 5:28-29; 11:25-26; 1 Corinthians 15; 2 Thessalonians 1:9

We believe that the church is a body of believers commissioned by Christ to make disciples of all nations by evangelizing the lost and edifying the saved. We were not intended to live the Christian life outside the church, because only with all believers are we able to know the love Christ.
Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Ephesians 2:19-22; 3:16-19; 4:14-16
The church.
human sexuality.
We believe that God created all things to display His immeasurable glory (Colossians 1:16). The pinnacle of God’s creation was a biological male and a biological female created in His image (Genesis 1-2). From the beginning, God established the institution of marriage between one man and woman (Genesis 2:18-25; Ephesians 5:22-33). We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female, and this gift of gender is part of the goodness of God’s creation. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Genesis 1:26-27). We therefore believe that rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God and is contrary to God’s creation and design. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as defined in Scripture (Genesis 2:18-25). We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4) and any sexual activity outside of the protections of a biblical marriage is sinful and offensive to God (Matthew 15:18-20; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Yet, we believe that God offer redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.
Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
